The Sultana Game – Understanding Fruit and Seed Dispersal

Resource

The Sultana Game acts as an interactive introduction to fruit and seed dispersal. Pupils are encouraged to hide a ‘sultana’ or another suitable small fruit or nut in the playground before attempting to retrieve it later. Some of the items will not be found again and a discussion can follow around seed dispersal.

Always check potential allergies before using plant material in the classroom. Almost always avoiding nuts could be appropriate.

This game was initially developed by Dr Anne Bebbington.
