Design and make a plant for a habitat

Resource

This activity is an ideal follow-on from ‘How are plants suited to their habitat?‘. It provides pupils with an exciting task to design and make a plant which can be suited to a particular environment.

Pupils will learn about plant adaptations and they will use their knowledge to ‘discover a new plant’. It is a great way for them to apply their knowledge in an engaging activity which is suitable for all abilities.

Topics covered include plant life cycles, environmental factors in a plants habitat, plant adaptation and parts of plants.
This resource is useful to combine cross curricular links in to learning. It is also a great way to assess children’s knowledge of the learning that has taken place up to this point.
