Building Confidence in Microscopy – 4th June 2025 (online)

This session was developed for anyone wanting to become confident in teaching microscopy to secondary students of any age. You explored some critical concepts in microscopy and were provided with suggestions for some specimens to use in order to help you teach microscopy lessons that help students become confident and enthusiastic users of microscopes and skilled interpreters of what they see.

RSC New Teacher Series: Teaching Biology with Plants 101 – 3rd October 2025 (online)

In this session, part of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s series for new teachers, attendees identified SAPS as a place to go for guidance and support for teaching biology using plants as well as having explored resources developed for teaching key principles of biology. These include photosynthesis, osmosis, mitosis and transpiration.
