This animation allows students to view the processes of photosynthesis and respiration. In particular, it tackles the common misconception among students that respiration in plants does not take place at the same time as photosynthesis. The animation is intended for both GCSE and A-level / post-16 biology teaching, and has sufficient detail and accuracy for both.
The animation first shows the organism in the dark, with respiration taking place. It then shows the organism in the light, when both photosynthesis and respiration are taking place.
